Acopia Brexit Update
With January 1st 2021 fast approaching, we wanted to let you know what Acopia Group Ltd are putting in place in order to continue to provide a seamless service to you.
As things stand today, the UK Government is yet to provide UK businesses with clarity on any potential deal with the EU, and any possible changes to tariffs and concessions on duties. However, the UK freight industry is anticipating some delays at the UK Ports in the first few weeks of January, as a greater volume of goods will need to be cleared through Customs.
Acopia operates an agile model. We hold plenty of stock in our 50,000 square ft UK warehouse so that our customers can operate a just-in-time/ lean model. We also source from UK manufacturers and manage a parallel Supply Chain model, where possible. As a result, the majority of our product lines will be unaffected by any impact Brexit may have.
That said, we do have to source some specific goods from our EU Partners. For these product lines, we are currently pulling orders forward and increasing buffer stock where appropriate. We are also taking a similar approach to the small quantity of critical stock lines sourced from far shore countries, as we want to minimise risk of any goods being delayed at the UK Ports.
What can our Customers do to help?
Please let us know now what you will be wanting to order from Acopia in January 2021 – we can order in advance now and hold it in our warehouse if necessary
Please let us know now if you will require any additional certification / documentation for your standard Acopia products after 1st January 2021
