Around 20,000 producers and importers are feeling the impact of the Plastic Packaging Tax

The Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) came into affect on April 1, 2022. This new tax is designed to promote the use of recycled plastics and curb plastic waste. The rate in 2024 will be raised from  £210.82 per tonne to £217.85 per tonne with effect from 1 April 2024.

With a staggering 79% of all plastic ever produced still remaining in our environment, the answer is to embrace the reduction of plastic usage altogether.

The current rate sees tax paid on all plastic with less then 30% recycled plastic and it is more than likely to increase to include higher rates of recycled content in the future so it makes sense to act now.

Take strides towards minimising your plastic consumption

To navigate your organisation’s path toward lower plastic consumption and tax liability, the crucial first step is gaining a clear understanding of your current plastic usage.

We can assess your current setup and processes to uncover your present plastic packaging usage. Our comprehensive report will offer recommendations, presenting opportunities to minimise waste, cut costs, and decrease your current plastic consumption.

After analysing products and processes, we’ll compare by running your line with a small stretch film sample. We measure performance against your current stretch wrap, considering usage, machine performance, stretch gained, load stability, and more.
