2017 was our fourth year at the Charity Retail Conference, this was our best event by far.
Not only did we have the incredible honour and opportunity to sponsor the Awards evening, we were able to have many, many valuable conversations with existing customers and new acquaintances.
We are delighted to be part of the CRA and this network dedicated to the support and growth of the charity retail sector. Developments show real innovation and a move towards the ‘main-stream’ with a targeted market approach to engaging with customers and driving fund raising. With increasing relevance to different demographics – it is clear the charity sector is experiencing a renaissance in popularity and capitalising on the learning and cross pollination of ideas throughout the individual charities.
Learning & Sharing
For me I think what is exceptional about this sector, and why I love being involved, is that I get to work with real people. Building personal relationships in an business area where yes, of course – there is an important commercial aspect and relevant objectives, but it is also an area where people genuinely care about what they are achieving. Raising funds for causes such as child protection, medical support, research and end of life care – this brings into sharp focus the vital work that needs to be done and we are thrilled to be able to work collaboratively with our clients to support these goals, building strong meaningful partnerships and providing a very tailored and bespoke response to requirements.
Attending some of the round table events at the Conference, it is so clear that all involved are eager to share their ideas and experiences in order to assist a fellow charity. Helping and supporting in this way raises the profile on the entire charity sector and it is this holistic approach that is so unique and refreshing – and why I will always champion it!
The Awards Night
An incredible evening recognising and celebrating the stars of the charity world – the real stars! These are the countless volunteers and staff throughout UK that work incredibly hard to achieve that all important fund raising. We were lucky enough to be able to sponsor the occasion and had the opportunity to meet and present awards such as Volunteer Of The Year, Shop Team Of The Year and Outstanding Charity Retailer, to name a few. To hear their personal stories of achievement and commitment was truly inspirational. I had the honour of addressing the room of over 500 people to introduce the Awards!
It was a wonderful , exceedingly busy and exciting few days where we were able to connect with so many on a personal level and talk about the range of solutions we can provide from retail consumables, retail packaging, shop fittings fit-out and our Single Source offer. I, for one, am looking forward to doing it all again next year!
